Powered Industrial Trucks

Training PowerPoint
This PowerPoint is designed to allow a qualified instructor to present the training material for Big Joe Handling on Powered Industrial Trucks. It also covers the required OSHA guideline requirements, 1910.178.
This allows trainers to certify operators as well as provide familiarization training when needed.

Trainer Guide
The trainers guide provides supporting information for the authorized trainer. It will review training techniques, training materials and access to the web portal.

Operator Guide
The operator guide is both a presentation and a printable guide that you can download for the students to review.
Class Roster
The class roster provides attendance records for your training. This is an important document to provide if you have to prove training compliance to OSHA.

Safe Use Form
Operating a powered industrial truck has risks. Operators should acknowledge these risks, and that they have been properly trained to handle them.
If they are in a situation that is unsafe or a task is unsafe they should report the situation to their supervisor for review.

Evaluation Form
Operator evaluations are a required part of the OSHA 1910.178 guideline.
Regardless of experience, operators must be evaluated before using any P.I.T. in your facility.
Operators must also be evaluated every 3 years.
This form provides an evaluation checklist with basic tasks operators should be able to complete prior to using the lift in your facility.

Incident Report
Following any type of accident, near miss, unsafe driving action or interaction where the forklift operator may have been involved, the operator must go through re-training. It is best to document these situations as well as the corrective action reccomended by the trainer. This provides a document trail if in the future OSHA investigates this or another incident involving the operator.

Visual Site Hazard Review
Every site has special rules, hazards and safe operating procedures that should be reviewed with every operator. This should be reviewed as part of new operator training classes.
This review also has the safe use sign off form integrated into it. You can use the one here or the stand alone form.

SITE Forklift Policy and JHA Form
The site JHA Form can be used to document site and company forklift safe use policies and operating hazards.
This detailed document can help record policies, procedures and even where forklift training records are kept.
While this is not required by OSHA Guideline, it is a procedure that will help to keep a company organized and establish safe procdures that will help if there is an incident and OSHA investigation.
